The Brahmaputra River has surpassed the danger level at Neamatighat and Tezpur, and other rivers in various areas are also above their respective danger marks.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several regions, including Nalbari, Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, and Tinsukia. The IMD predicts that the situation in these areas could become critical over the next 3-4 days due to the anticipated heavy downpours. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions as the weather conditions may lead to flooding and disruption.

Floods have hit 14 districts, 41 revenue circles, and 698 villages.

2.74 lakh people have been affected so far. The NHPC has released 409 cubic meters of excess water, affecting 21,000 residents in North Lakhimpur.
