The Uttar Pradesh Police filed a formal complaint (FIR) against the event organizers on Wednesday, alleging that they concealed evidence and disregarded regulations, resulting in the deaths of 121 persons from the stampede at a religious congregation in this city, when only 80,000 were allowed to attend

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, is probably going to the location of the stampede that happened on Tuesday afternoon in the Sikandar Rau area, close to Phulrai village, when thousands of people came for a “satsang” led by religious leader Bhole Baba.

The Office of the Relief Commissioner said that although the death toll has increased to 121, there are still 28 injuries from the disaster.

It stated that 19 of the total deaths have not yet been identified.

Manoj Kumar Singh, the chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh, announced the dead toll on Tuesday: 116. All the victims were women, with the exception of a guy and seven children.

The congregation’s or “satsang” conductor, Jagat Guru Saakar Vishwahari, is named in the complaint but is not included in the list of defendants in the state police’s formal complaint against the organizers.

As per the FIR, the organisers concealed the true quantity of devotees attending the’satsang’ while requesting permission, failed to assist with traffic control, and concealed evidence following the stampede that occurred when the crowd stopped to gather mud from the path the baba’s vehicle was taking.
